Good luck Ted!

Went to go watch Ted Oh play in the 2nd round of Q school at Oak Valley Golf course today. Luckily the course is only 10 minutes from my apartment. For those of you that don't know, to get access to the PGA tour, you have to play through 3 stages of the Qualification Tournament also known as Q-School. Each stage is 4 rounds of golf, with the final stage being 6 consecutive days/rounds of golf. The top 20 from each stage make it through. That's a crazy test of your golf game. I can maybe go 3 days straight, but then my hands get raw and my body starts aching, but 6 rounds?!!! That's insane. This test is so daunting that even Tiger did everything he could to avoid going through this gruesome test.

Anyways, Ted is Julie's friend from high school. They grew up playing golf together and represented Korea in a world junior tournament in Japan. Coming out of high school, Ted was actually ranked higher than Tiger on the Junior circuit. After watching him today, I was very impressed. His ball striking is unreal. On the 16th hole, par 5, he drove it 300 yds down the middle of the fairway. (his caddie said he can drive it 30 yds further than him, hahaha) He got an unlucky break and had about a 30 degree downhill lie into the green 200+ yards away with water going all along the left side of the fairway. The fairway tapered to barely 20 yds wide. 99% of people would have laid up because the ball would have surely ended up in the water. Instead, Ted hit a low trap draw with the ball set up at his right foot and ended up right next to the green. Very balsy, but truly an amazing shot. He then almost chipped in and 1 putted for birdie.

You can follow his progress here:

Here's currently tied for 16th place with one more round to go. Good luck Ted!

Pororo doll dance

So Laguna harabogi and halmoni recently visited Korea and they were kind enough to bring back some Pororo dolls, Jasmine's new love. Apparently, my dad carried the dolls on carry-on for 12 hours. hahaha. Just a funny thought since each one is about the size of a volleyball. For those of you that don't know Pororo, here's the lovable cartoon characters singing "geh guri" (frog).

And here's Jasmine playing with Pororo. She also got Eddie, Crong, Patty, and the little bird. Too bad she didn't get my favorite, Pobie. hahaha.

Singing Pororo

So lately, Jasmine has been moving away from her pung pung ee and taking more of a liking to pororo and mickey mouse. We got her this flashing microphone thing that plays the pororo theme song and she loves singing into it. I don't know how she knows to sing into a microphone. It's pretty hilarious/cute.

My fobbers and bab

As I've mentioned, Jasmine is a fob. She loves bab and miyuk guk more than anything. Here she is chowing down on her favorite food. It's not very exciting, but you get the point.

Park Bom 'You and I'

So Park Bom from 2ne1 debuted with her first solo single. She's the 'vocalist' of the group and I wasn't that fond of her tone and her plasticky look, but this song definitely makes her grow on me. Another masterpiece by producer Teddy. Video is again very well shot.

This song wasn't going to be marketed and performed on inkigayo but it shot up the charts and was number 1 after only 3 days so YG decided to push this song on the weekend shows. She performed it for the first time last night. Check it out:

Jasmine's 1st Halloween!! (10-31-9)

So for Halloween this year, Julie decided to dress Jasmine up as Hello Kitty since her face already shaped like hello kitty with her wide cheeks. She had been looking for a decent hello kitty costume for quite some time and all of them looked really ugly. Luckily she found one that looked cute. Problem was trying to get her to put the costume on her head. I guess she doesn't like having stuff on her head, although after a while, she realized it looked good on her and kept it on. Can't believe this girl.

We went outside before dark to get some photos in.

Someone's not looking too excited

I love the expressions on Mommy and Jasmine!

Hmmm, where did Jasmine get that fake smile from???? hahaha.

Whatta mischevous geh-guh-jeng

Practicing her trick or treating. It was still too bright to go around to the houses at this point.

After it got dark, we decided to trek outside and give it a run. Most of the houses in the area didn't have their lights on, so we assumed they didn't want us to come and ring their doorbells.

Proud halmoni taking her granddaughter trick or treating

Helping her along

I don't know why she's frowning?

Cool shot with the flash making Jaz look like she's floating on a black screen.

Luckily we found a few houses to hit, but Jasmine wasn't too fond of the whole trick or treating thing. She started crying every time they openned the door. We decided to call it a day after 3 houses.

Here's the experience

The aftermath

Mommy trying to get one last photo-op before we retired the costume for 2009. Luckily it's big enough that she can probably wear it next year!

Chowing down on some corn with harabogi. As you all know by know, Jaz doesn't mess around with her corn. hahaha.

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!!!

Here's her from last year in her bee costume. Can you believe she's already grown a whole year. Look how much she's changed!

It's nice to see someone appreciates

I know this blog was mainly targeted towards keeping in touch with relatives in Korea and documenting Jasmine's precious moments, but it's nice to see people appreciate our posts. It's hard work!

Someone who we didn't know commented (we hope you don't mind us posting this):
"Just looking at your baby girl's pictures remind me of days gone by with my little girl Lindsey. She was a blast with so many quirkly joyful expressions like Jasmine! I love your blog! I wish I had pineapple.typepad 13 years ago! I had my second daughter and a son after Lindsey but the memories of raising my first baby with all the love in the world from aunts, uncles, grandparents galore was one in a million! I don't know you at all but I feel the love you have for your little one!
love, sue from portland"

Thanks Sue. And we didn't forget you too Jen. Thanks for commenting. For all those people coming off Dan and Esther's blog or Lillian and John's blog, feel free to drop a line. We won't bite, even if we are Fox News watching Republicans. hahaha.
